Circle Foundation (the "Foundation") values your privacy and complies with applicable laws including the "Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection" and "Personal Information Protection Act."
The Foundation Privacy Policy ("Policy") was created to help you understand how the Foundation collects and uses information that is collected from our users and how the Foundation is protecting your privacy.
The Foundation has a necessary revision procedure in place to ensure continuously improvement of this Policy. The Foundation creates a new version number each time this Policy is revised so that you can easily find the latest verson.
This version will take effect on July 16, 2018. When any material changes are made, the Foundation will notify you by posting a notice on the Foundation's website or using other means such as email, call or social media.

1. Information collected and collection methods

(1) Information collected

The Foundation collects the following information from users ("you") when you use the services.

※ You can access the content of this website without signing up. But, the website may collect some personal information from the entrants.
※ The Foundation does not collect any personal information from users under 14 years old. In some cases where collecting the personal information is unavoidable to provide services, the Foundation will obtain consent from the legal guardian of the child and destroy the information immediately when the purposes of collection are achieved. The Foundation will strive to ensure that the personal information collected is protected.
※ While you are using a service, the following information may be created and collected. - Service usage records, access logs, cookies

(2) Collection methods

- The Foundation collects your information from the website, forms, calls/emails/bulletin boards and when you enter a Facebook/Instagram giveaways or events.

※ You can opt-in or opt-out of allowing the Foundation to collect your information in each case.


2. Purpose of collection and use
The Foundation use the personal information collected for the following purposes:

3. Retention and use period
The Foundation will dispose of your personal information when you are inactive for more than a year. Personal information collected from the idea submitters including phone number, date of birth, and company/school will be disposed of in one year, and personal information collected for giveaway/event entrants such as name, phone number, address, and Resident Registration No. will be disposed of in 3 months. However, if certain personal information needs to be retained under an applicable law, the Foundation will retain the information for a period of time set by said law. In that case, the Foundation will move the personal information to a separate database or storage medium.

4. Disposal of personal information
The following procedure and methods are used to dispose of personal information: (1) Procedure
After the purposes of collecting your personal information are achieved, your information will be moved to a separate database (to a retention box if paper-based documents) and retained there for a period of time set by the internal policy and other related laws. The personal information moved to a separate database will not be used for any purposes other than retention unless ordered otherwise by legal authorities.

(2) Methods
Electronic files will be deleted using a technical method that makes it impossible to recover the files. Paper-based documents will be burned or shredded using a shredder.

5. Third party service providers
The Foundation contracts third party service providers to handle personal information. Service providers may handle personal information for each service as need-based. The Foundation supervises the service providers to ensure that personal information is handled in a secure manner and requires them to abide by privacy-related guidelines, maintain confidentiality, not to provide information to a third party, to take responsibility for any incidents, and to return or destroy the personal information after the service period is over. When the service or service provider is changed, the Foundation will notify you by posting a notice on the Foundation's website (or individually by using email, call, or social media).

6. Disclosure to third parties

The Foundation does not share your personal information with any outside parties, except in the following situations:
- When the request for personal information is received from a law enforcement agency or public body as part of a law enforcement proceeding or an investigation
- When personal information is needed to charge a fee for paid services
- When personal information is provided in an unidentifiable format for statistics reports and academic or market research - When you give prior consent

7. Users or their legal guardians’ rights and how to exercise them
You or the legal guardian may request to access, correct, delete, or stop further processing your information or withdraw your consent. To exercise your rights, please send email to the Foundation (contact@thecircle.or.kr). The Foundation will respond to your request as soon as possible. The Foundation may reject your request to access, correct, delete or stop further processing, in whole or in part, in one of the following situations:
- When it is limited or not allowed to access, delete or stop further processing the information by law.
- When doing so may harm others physically or unduly infringe others' property or interests. - When it is not possible to provide the promised services to you without processing your personal information and you didn’t clearly state your intention to opt-out.
When you request correction of an error in your information, the Foundation will not use or share your information with a third party until the correction has been made. Also, the Foundation will immediately send a notice to the party when incorrect personal information was already provided to a third party. The personal information erased or stopped further processing by your request will be processed as described in the "Retention and use period" section even when it is specifically defined by law or it is unavoidable to process the information by law. The Foundation will ensure that the information is not accessed or used for any purpose other than one specified by law. Please correctly enter your most current information. You are responsible for entering incorrect information. You may lose your membership when you enter false or stolen information. You have a right to privacy as well an obligation to protect yours and and others' right to privacy. Please keep your personal information safe and secure and be careful not to damage others' personal information. You may be subject to punishment under the the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection if you fail to fulfill such obligations and damage the dignity or personal information of others.

8. Installing, using and declining of collection tools

The Foundation uses cookies to enable auto login, analyze the time and frequency of visits of members/non-members, identify and keep track of your preference and interests and measure the level of participation of events in order to provide customized marketing and services. You have an option to allow or block cookies. You can either allow all cookies, confirm each cookie request, or block all cookies by adjusting your web browser settings. But if you block cookies, you may not be able to use certain services.

The Foundation takes measures to protect your personal information as follows:
- Organizational: establish and enforce an internal policy and provide employee training on a regular basis
- Technical: limit access to a person information processing system, implement an access control system, and use encryption and security programs for personally identifiable information
- Physical: restrict access to the computer center and storage
